SriSri Anna came to madurai by car on Dec-2. Sri padmanaban anna received him near the Azhagar koil entrance. Anna was in a very happy mood. He had a very good swamy darshan. He reached "Gokulam" after the darshan. The madurai devotees started arriving one by one. Anna asked Murali Mohan "what program will we have today" and said "we will have a parayanam of Bagavath Geetha". So the Geetha Parayanam started. It was wonderful to hear the whole Geetha in a single go. Anna enjoyed it thoroughly. after the parayanam the pooja was performed and srisri went to take some rest. The evening session began with a upanyasam. today the treat was "Kuchelo Bagyanam". It was a very soul rendering upanyasam and srisri took all the devotees to a state of bliss. Fortunate are those maduari devotees who were drenched in the outpour. After the upanysam Anna took some food and started to Madurai to catch his train to Tiruvanandapuram.All the devotees had come to the station to send off Anna. The Quilon mail going to Trivandrum also started late giving ample time for the devotees to enjoy with anna. Finally the train started and the devotees bid farewell to srisri. "Oh what a day it was " they could be seen talking to one another. Sathguru Krupa smarane sugam!!!

Wish you all a Happy Deepavali. SriSri is at Srirangam celebrating Deepavali. One of my friends has gone to have darshan. I will write more about what happened during his visit after talking to him. Thinking of Diwali I remember SriSri calling me this Brahmothsavam and giving some crackers to fire during Kolahalans purapaadu. SriSri Smarane sugam.

Whatever be the occassion we try to associate it with SriSriAnna. It is Gandhi Jeyanthi today. SriSri has always talked very high of Gandhiji in his upanyasam's. Once he said "kaiyile kambum vayile rama namum kondu sudandiram vangi koduthar " ( He got us freedom just by having a stick in his hand and rama nama in his mouth) Gandhiji read the Bagavatham everyday. SriSri had been to the Gandhi memorial and the Bagavatham book he had been reading was displayed . The page he had read last before being shot was kept open. SriSri looked at the book and found that Gandhiji had read "Gajendra Moksham" the day before being shot !!. SriSri would tell how high he felt about Gandhiji that day seeing the book. SriSri used to say that he fully deserved being referred to as "Mahathma Gandhiji"

it was the theerthavari day at paranur brahmothsavam. anna had gone back to paranur by car. we youngsters were running back with kolahalan. i always relish this particular moment. the sky usually gets dark by that time. someone holds a gas light . we all run along with kolahalan back to paranur from the river bed. usually only 10 to 15 of us end up during that time. we all jump and dance and run like mad. we shout "gopal gopal" all along. we all will be sad that we will miss kolahalan the very next day, yet there will be the joy of having attended a great uthsavam. this run with kolahalan always remains one of the unforgettable part of the uthsavam.
this year also i was aching for the great moment. anna left for paranur and so did all the devotees. we guys, started running with kolahalan. suddenly i remembered that the purse which i had kept tucked in my dhothi was missing. my train tickets were there in it and the train was for that night. i was perplexed. i could no longer keep with the pace of the boys running with kolahalan. my material mind was simply not there. but i was also so so sad that i will miss the kolahalan run. me and my friend suresh started searching for the purse in the river bed. my heart was so stuffy that i nearly cried. earlier i was running here and there on the river bed with a camera in hand and probably had dropped the purse somewhere. how could a purse be searched in a river bed that too when it was dark. suddenly our car which had gone to paranur to drop devotees came back. i got into it and to my great relief the purse was there. i forgot the purse and started running after kolahalan. ha had left nealy 10 minutes earlier and it was impossible to catch up. but myself and suresh were not to give up. we ran like hell. we shouted "kolahala kolahala konjam methuva po, nanga vanthudarom!!.. "my chest started paining and i was out of breath. suddenly in the distance we could see the lights of kolahalan pallakku. now nothing could stop us. we ran like never before and reached kolahalan. i could not believe it myself. kolahalan had waited for us. he had made us reach him in time !! i will never forget the day in my life. "kolahala kolahala kolahala kolahala !"

Brahmothsavam -Day 2

The day starts in the early hours everyone will wake up around 4.00 am and waiting for prabhodanam.
Srisri comes out of his room with big smile and do the pooja.
Around 7am Unchavarthi with various Anna & other Sadhus songs
Around 8am Srisri comes out of temple with kolahalan.
Everyone welcome him with brindavalli
After that Anna start throwing curd & butter towards people.
Everyone enjoy the moment like the same day as lord Krishna’s birth.
People starts to enjoy the bliss of Srisri and get the glimpse of Anna showing him butter and curd to eat.
Anna takes a bite and remaining part poured to the same & crowd.
Every one enjoy the moment with "gopal gopal" namavalli
Anna goes around kolahalan temple.
Each & every home the same thing repeats with the Manthahasam.
All the patasala students go around Anna.
Anna is in between Namavalli, kolahalan.

In the afternoon Geetha Govindam is recited
Around 4.00 pm Srisri starts his pravachan with Govinda satakam
Around 8.00 pm kolahalam comesout to pour the bliss to his devotees
After that Divayanamam upto 12.00 pm
The day ends with Dolosthavam

I came back from coimbatore just two days back. Srisri was nearing the completion of nammazhvar's thiruvaimozhi.
It was Just Wonderfull to sit there and watch him pour pasuram after pasuram.
